SPECIAL COLLECTION ISSUES 

External Catheters 
if a donor has a catherider  they must provide the urine from the collection bag - and this must be indicated in the notes section of the CCF the temperature will not be checked and all required privacy requirements are observed.  

Internal Cauterizations
The person’s personnel physician can conduct the collection, and provide appropriate documentation.

There are currently no medical exceptions that eliminate the collection process

Cold/Adulterated Specimen - An immediate,  observed collection,  is conducted by an observer of the same gender using a second CCF. 
Both the original specimen and the observed specimen will be sent to the lab for testing, The DER and the MRO are advised.  The DER and The MRO may receive 2 results Wait for both results before taking any action.

If the collector is unable to perform the observed collection because a collector of the same sex is unavailable, the DER will be asked to provide or assist in providing a same sex witness for the collection.

WHEN TO CONDUCT A DOT TEST

The reason for a test is called a test (type) the reason a test is conducted  MUST be indicated on the Custody & Control Form.  An incorrect test type being indicated on a CCF  will have an adverse effect up your statistics including the proper amount of random testing being required and conducted.

Notify your MRO in writing to change the reason a test was conducted as soon as you discover thr error.
